چکیده

As an abundant potentially dangerous waste, red mud (RM) requires a straightforward method of resource management. In this paper, RM catalyst loaded with cobalt (Co-RM) was prepared by the coprecipitation for efficient activation persulfate (PS). Its degradation performance and mechanism ofloxacin (OFL) were investigated. The characterization results scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometer, energy dispersive spectrometer showed successfully onto surface RM, produced could effectively activate PS. Under conditions 15 mg/L OFL, 0.4 g/L Co-RM, 4 PDS, 3.0 pH, 40 °C temperature, maximum removal rate OFL Co-RM/PDS system 80.06%. Free radical scavenging experiments confirmed sulfate radicals main active substances in reaction system. intermediates further identified gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, possible pathway proposed. Finally, relationship between defluorination time described first-order kinetic equation. This work reports economical, environmental solution to use waste provides research basis exploration RM-based catalysts.

Oxidative Degradation of 2-chlorophenol by Persulfate

The degradation of 2-chlorophenol (2-CP) by persulfate was investigated. The kinetics of persulfate oxidation of 2-chlorophenol in aqueous solutions at various pH, oxidant concentration, temperature, Fe2+ and Cu2+ ions content was studied. Maximum of 2-CP degradation occurred at pH 8. The oxidation rate of 2-CP increased with increasing the persulfate molar excess. The degradation process was s...

Improved corneal bioavailability of ofloxacin: biodegradable microsphere-loaded ion-activated in situ gel delivery system

The aim of the study was to improve corneal penetration and bioavailability of ofloxacin (OFX) eye preparations. OFX was incorporated in poly (lactide-co-glycolide) as biodegradable microspheres using oil in oil emulsion solvent evaporation technique. The prepared OFX microspheres were then incorporated in Gelrite(®) in situ gel preparation. In addition, OFX Gelrite-based in situ gel formulatio...
